40th Youth Parliament
The
objective of shaping ideal parliamentarians and creating awareness in the younger generation to take quick
and rational decisions was evident at the 40th YOUTH PARLIAMENT session held at school grounds on 16th November ’05.
Around 75 students took part enthusiastically in the event.
The Chief Guest,
Mr. Mukesh Sharma, M.L.A. graced the occasion. School Principal, Mrs. Usha Sahgal welcomed the distinguished guests
and parents.

The Model
Parliament displayed its concern on the various issues related to the society which included the ‘Negative Role
played by Media’ and its effect on our youth, new ‘Grading System’ introduced by C.B.S.E. The attention of the
house was called on ‘Water and Power Crisis’.

Mr. Ram Chandra
Vikal, Former Parliamentarian and Mr. Dharam Pal Under Secretary to Government of India judged the presentations there
by appreciating the participating students. He was of the opinion that the school pupils had presented the model of an
‘Ideal Parliamentarians’ observing all the laid down procedures and practices which the elder parliamentarians sitting
in the House could emulate.
Shailesh Garg was
adjudged the best speaker. Pushkar Sikka, Kriti Aggarwal, Nancy Arora shared the Second position. The Third position
was shared by Mitali Aswal, Shivangi Minhas & Deepak Kumar Das. Shagun Mangla, Neha Goyal & Payal Raheja bagged the Fourth
position.
Mrs. Dimple Narang,
the co-ordinator of the event proposed the formal vote of thanks.
7th
Gyan Devi Memorial Inter School Debate Competition
The event held in the memory of
the founder of the school, had various prestigious schools participating and debating enthusiastically
on the topic, ‘Festivals are less about tradition and more about commerce’.

The Chief Guest Shri
Y. P. Purang, former Dy. Director of Education, graced the function. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the
schools. The Principal Mrs. Usha Sahgal reiterated that winning or losing is not so important. The esteemed panel of judges
included Mrs. Era Sehgal, an Educationist, Mrs. Vandana Tandon, a keen Debator and Mrs. Pooja Malhotra a Psychologist.

The budding orators,
on one hand argued that festivals have a religious, social and seasonal element to them. They are the best way to remember
the age old traditions of the past. Whereas those against the motion were of the opinion that Festivals are nothing but
glamorization of a bundle of boastful activities.
Vivekananda of V.V.
DAV Public School, Vikas Puri bagged the First Prize. Prerna Narula of Adarsh Public School & Aditi Mohanti of V.V. DAV
Public School shared the Second Prize. The Third Prize was shared by Jasmine Aggarwal of N. C. Jindal Public School &
Poornima Narang of St. Cecilia’s Public School.
V.V. DAV Public
School was declared the proud recipient of the Running Trophy. Special mentioned prize was bagged by Chandramani - Adarsh Public School.

Spectrum
2004

A
celebrating with fun and frolic by the students of Adarsh Public School,
Bali Nagar on 24th July. Spectrum
– band of colours was divided into three categories – Story telling,
Patriotic Song and Folk dance. This was an inter-house competition, which
began with the Story telling.

Each
player of the skits acted his / her role in a very impressive way and the
dialogue delivery was superb. This event reminds the kids about the laps
of their grandparents with whom they enjoy stories. After this patriotic
songs were sung in a heroic manner. It fascinated every one and touched
the soft corner where their love and respect lie for the nation. Folk
dances of different states were staged which not only showed the glimpses
of these states but also filled the whole atmosphere with the beats and
colours.


At last
the chief guests, Mrs. Neha Sahgal and Mrs. Geetanjali declared the
result. Grisham house bagged 1st Position followed by Sharad
house and Basant house respectively. The school campus echoed with three
cheers for all the houses. The Principal of the School admired the efforts
of teachers & the
students too. She emphasised that these competitions not only bring out
the talent of the child but also help in all around development of a
child.
Fantasia
2004

The
school organized the three-day cultural festival with around 20
prestigious schools of Delhi participated in this extravaganza especially
designed for Pre-Primary & Primary school children. Montfort, St.
Francis De Sales, Ryan International, DPS International, Meera Model
School are just to name a few. The
event comprised of group activities like western & punjabi dances,
quiz competition and individual performances in the form of singing,
dancing, instrument playing, mimicry, paint brush competition on computers
and a colourful fancy dress presentation.


The
inaugural ceremony was held on 21st April, 2004.
Event Co-ordinator Mrs. Pooja Malhotra highlighted the aim and
objective of organizing Fantasia 2004 and welcomed the participating
schools. The valedictory function was held on 23rd April, 2004.

Mrs.
Daljeet Kaur, Deputy Director of Education (Distt. West B), was the Chief
Guest. Mrs. Sharon Lowen, the renowned Odissi Dancer, was the Guest of
Honour on the occasion. The prize-winning performances were staged on that
day which won tremendous applause from the audience and guests. The school Principal Mrs. Usha Sahgal applauded the efforts
of the participants. Besides individual prizes an overall trophy was also
awarded. Montfort School, Ashok Vihar was the proud recipient of the same.
PRISM 2002
Adarsh Kindergarten
celebrated an evening that took everyone to the ingenuous beautiful & choco sweet
world of childhood. Sharing the sweet joys & its exoteric elegance. The whole event
was a magnificent performance by the tiny wonders of Adarsh on Tuesday, 19th of November
2002.
The evening glittered all
the more due to the presence of Mr. Kapil Dev who was the Chief
Guest for the event. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Mukesh Sharma (MLA),
Mrs. Daljeet Kaur (Dy. Dir. of Education), Ms. Tirkey (E. O. West Zone), Mrs. Divya
Gurwara (Organiser 'Bridal Asia').

Everyone was left amazed
with an out of the world performance by the tiny kids in a Fashion Show "Mannequins
on the Move" which was divided into Indian & Western Theme.
It was really an exquisite,
a unique presentation. The cutie-pies were looking drop dead gorgeous & it was hard
time for even the parents to believe that they were their same naughty kids setting the
ramp on fire.

Other items that captivated
the audience were: 'Jungle Joy' where the kids danced on the peppy Aqua number of Tarzan
& Jane in the jungle. Stretch 'N' Style an aerobics performance was another trendy
presentation by the kids which showed the flexi-smarty fitness freak buds of Adarsh.

How can the show be
complete without rocking the stage with Punjabi dance. The charged up kids bursted the
atmosphere dancing on Shava-Shava!! The audience got a real treat for senses.

Mr. Kapil Dev highly
appreciated the efforts put in by the management & teachers & really enjoyed the
show. He stressed upon the need of a combination of education & sports to bring out
the best in every child.
Prize Distribution ceremony
was also held. The toppers were given appreciation trophies for excelling in curricular as
well as extra-curricular activities.
Mrs. Pooja Malhotra,
Headmistress Adarsh Kindergarten highlighted various activities being carried on in the
school through fun filled methods of teaching.

Incharge presented the vote of thanks acknowledging the efforts put in by the teachers and
parents in making PRISM 2002 - the celebration of childhood, an evening
that would always be cherished!
PRISM 2002
was an attempt to spread the colours of joy & happiness that brought the feeling of
utmost ecstasy at Adarsh. The extremely talented students won the stage and heart of the
audience with their sweet smile and loads of Confidence. The show was simply great!!
ANNUAL DAY
CELEBRATIONS


Adarsh Public School celebrated it's Annual Day on
24th Nov, 2001. Mr. K.P.S. Gill, Former Director General of Police (Punjab) and currently
the President of Indian Hockey Federation was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. S.S.
Sharma, Mrs. Daljeet Kaur, Mr. Y.P. Purang from the Education Department and Mr. Mukesh
Sharma, MLA also graced the occasion with their benign presence. The Principal listed the
acievements of the school in the annual report and also highlighted the role of the school
as an institution in developing the future generation of today. The highlight of the
function was a ballet on 'Kabir', which emphasized on religious, cultural
and social harmony, which is the need of the hour in today's era. It remarkably commented
on religious unity among various sections of society. The audience and guests greatly
applauded the efforts of the school in inculcating these values in children. Another
attraction was a foot tapping dance presentation 'Fusion' by the tiny
tots of the school which kept everybody spellbound and glued to their seats.
Mr. K.P.S. Gill, in his speech, remembered his
school days and compared them with present day's education system. He quoted Mahatma
Gandhi's policy of the Non-violence and reiterated that every citizen must understand
his/her duty to protect one's heritage. He inspired the students to be worthy citizens of
their country and place the country above self. |
