Calling all Alumni

Membership Form for ACAPS

We welcome all in India and abroad to the Alumni Community of Adarsh Public School (ACAPS). Due to a strong motivation and popular demand by the outgoing students of the past few years, the school laid down the charter of its Alumni Association body on 26th October 2003. The students hailed such an effort by the management. The role of the Alumni Relations’ Office headed by Ms. Shalini Sharma, and ex-student and a part of the faculty now, would be to facilitate the ongoing relation of the Alumni with the Adarsh family.

The Alumni Relations Office in the Vikas Puri branch itself would take local responsibility for creating and maintaining networks of the students, thus, would create programs or activities to support the ex-students of the School in developing and maintaining links particularly into the careers of their interest and later into the business community.

Regular social functions would be held to complement and strengthen bonds among fellow batch mates. Each quarter the Alumni Relations Office will send out a News Bulletin via email to all the members of the Alumni Community of Adarsh Public School with information on the achievements of your School, upcoming local and international activities and profiles of fellow batch mates so that our ex-students who are overseas can still be informed and be made aware of listings of their fellow batch mates.

As part of maintaining your relationship with Adarsh Public School, we are putting together the Alumni Community of Adarsh Public School Directory soon. This directory would list your contact details, current employment or educational qualifications.  This directory would be available to your fellow batch mates, teaching staff and the current students of the School.

Welcoming you once again, the school would be very proud to have you join the ranks of our membership. We look forward to meeting you at some point in the future. The following are some of the activities and their pictures with ACAPS members in action.

 Workshop on ‘Emotional Intelligence’

The ACAPS Governing Body led by the Chairperson, the Chairman of the school, Mr. P.K. Sahgal, organized a workshop on ‘Emotional Intelligence’ on 7th August, 2004.  Dr. Samir Parikh, Consultant Psychiatarist, Max Hospital was the Guest Speaker on the occasion.

Mrs. Pooja Malhotra (Secretary) welcomed the esteemed guest and read out the report of the previous activities organized by ACAPS.  The workshop witnessed the reunion of the old students of the school.  The topic was dealt delicately and the session proved to be an immense success as Dr. Parikh substantiated it with examples from day to day life.  He emphasized on the need of emotional intelligence in these days of stress and tension and also suggested ways to achieve it.

He said that life is like a “Pizza” & one should cook the whole Pizza.  The pieces in the Pizza are like facets of our life – one deals with careers, other with family, social relationship etc.  If our relationship with another person (XYZ) affects our studies, relation with family members or hampers any other facet, then it is better to leave that relationship.  It was followed by a query session where in the participants expressed their concern through various questions.

Ms. Anushree Kamath, Vice-President of ACAPS, proposed the vote of thanks and stressed that such workshops should be conducted frequently.

A Basketball match on the new Basketball cum Roller Skating Rink between the Alumni and current Student Council members, followed after the session.
